T shirt Update: Guys as I mentioned before the response on the CTW shirts has been overwhelming. I can't thank you guys enough for supporting the idea! That being said, there are A LOT of these to mail out, and it's just me stuffing them in envelopes by hand. The first wave is almost sent out now, and there are more shirts coming this week which will be on their way out ASAP!
Will: He used to just put a belt, a stick, and a wrench on the kitchen table and say, "Choose." Sean: Well, I gotta go with the belt there. Will: I used to go with the wrench. Sean: Why?
Will: Cause stuff him, that' why.(ok—I may have taken some poetic license and removed a swear word from that last line… no prizes for guessing what it was!)That comes straight out of a classic movie called: Goodwill hunting! The lead characters are talking about how when ‘Will’ (not our Coach Will—but I wouldn't be surprised if he made the same choice) was being punished he was given a choice of what he got hit with… and he always chose the most painful implement, the wrench.. because he could! So, what does this have to do with you getting fitter, healthier and stronger?Everything.Making the hard choices, choosing to do one more hill run, saying NO to dessert, stopping after 1 glass of wine (or not having any at all!), CHOOSING to get off the lounge is the difference between those who say they want to feel, look and perform better and those who do feel good, look good and have a strong body and mind!Do the work you know you don’t want to do now, and suffer the short term discomfort for long term gain!— put it off or take the ‘easy way out’ and you will suffer the pain of regret and long term discomfort of not getting what you really need because you were lazy and short sighted.Choosing the “wrench” doesn’t necessarily mean choosing the bigger hill to run, or more burpee’s. More work isn’t necessarily better. Sometimes (as in my case) you need to put away your big wrench and choose a smaller one.. Avoid the tough things you may love (like “Fran” and “Filthy Fifty”) in favour of more rehab work and getting healed!Choosing to do the work you don’t want to do so you get the outcome you need. It’s a lifestyle and choice that we all make, whether we know it or not..Stop putting it off, choose the wrench each day and no one can stop you!DaneP.s. Many Thanks to My Friend – Kevin Daigle at www.DaigleBreathesFire.com for the inspiration
